Turnarcades

Thought I would tell everyone about a recent transaction with the arcade cab builders "Turnarcades".

I built my cab from scratch, but my sister wanted one too. So we decided to go for a pre-fab. So I ordered a king machine from them.

The sales team were great ill give them that, so I felt happy about parting with the money.

Everything was great.....till it arrived.

The monitor was covered in paint, the plastic plexiglas cover broken, the trackerball broken and areas that hadnt been painted. Also offcuts with holes in had been used for the build.

The monitor was unusable for mame as it was way too dark.
My sis paid nearly £800 for this, im totally disgusted.
(PS didnt come with PC!!! Im supplying that.)

Turnarcades said that offcuts are sometimes used, the paintwork wasn't checked they were sorry but nothing they could do.
The overall build was ok, but all newbies could do better even with no experience.

I used 4 different computers on the screen, its definitely faulty.

The monitor has been taken out after cutting through all the glue they used to hold it in, the bits of offcuts they used have been filled with wood glue so it looks nice inside. Ive replaced the front Plexiglas and the trim.
Ive repainted all the patches, at a huge cost, and ive not even replaced the monitor yet. I fixed the trackerball, Turnarcades say they will do nothing to help with the cost of getting the cab into a good condition.

The company have offered me a replacement monitor but say its the same make (IBM CRT) and is darker than most screens. Im still waiting for it to turn up.

Im not here to slag off the company, the build was well overprices and with no eye for attention to the finish I feel let down. The parts of the cab that didn't have faults worked ok.

Anyway if you're ordering from this company don't expect great things, and remember they offer no guarantee on used parts, will use offcuts inside the cab, will use ALOT of glue instead of nicely finished brackets or holders on lights and monitor.

Build your own, or make sure you see someone elses build if you're going for pre-fab. Check the T+C also as you could get shafted like we did.

Steve
